The programme brought together PAAB representatives, consultants, contractors and technology specialists to explore how Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital project delivery and connected engineering technologies can support more effective water infrastructure management.
Advancing Digital Project Delivery
The morning session focused on digital governance, project visibility and connected information management for water infrastructure projects.
Participants were introduced to Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC) and digital workflows that support better collaboration, project coordination and information management throughout the project lifecycle.
The programme also highlighted SYNCHRO 4D for Construction Monitoring, demonstrating how construction schedules can be connected with 3D models to improve progress visibility and project coordination.
Supporting Better Construction Monitoring
Through 4D BIM workflows, project teams can gain a clearer understanding of construction sequencing, planned and actual progress, and ongoing site activities.
This approach supports better communication between project owners, consultants and contractors while improving project monitoring and decision-making.
For infrastructure owners such as PAAB, greater visibility of construction progress can support more transparent and informed project management.
From Project Delivery to Asset Information
Another key area of the programme was BIM LOD 500: From Project Delivery to Asset Information Management.
The session highlighted the importance of preparing accurate project information for handover and future asset management, including equipment, pipelines, engineering information and as-built data.
By maintaining structured digital information throughout the project lifecycle, asset owners can create a stronger foundation for long-term operation and maintenance.
Engaging Contractors in BIM Implementation
The afternoon session focused on practical implementation, bringing together PAAB representatives, consultants and contractors to discuss their roles in supporting digital project delivery.
Topics included BIM for Plant Design, the Contractor’s Role in BIM 4 Dimensions, and a Smart Integration Platform for Project Delivery to Asset Information Management. Pasted markdown
The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between clients, consultants and contractors in maintaining accurate and consistent project information.
