Kazgiprotsvetmet Ltd. was responsible for delivering the detailed design of a USD 1.1 billion mining and processing facility at the Bystrinskoye field. The project involved designing complex electrical systems for a large-scale plant intended to process multiple metals, including copper, iron, gold, and silver.
Given the scale and multidisciplinary nature of the project, the team needed to manage large volumes of engineering data while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and coordination across all design teams. Maintaining up-to-date information and enabling efficient collaboration among multiple users were critical requirements to successfully deliver the project.
To address these challenges, the team implemented a 3D design approach using Bentley Raceway and Cable Management. This allowed them to model cable support systems, equipment layouts, and electrical infrastructure within a coordinated digital environment.
The solution enabled multiple engineers to work concurrently while accessing a centralized database that ensured all users were working with the most current project information. Integration with other Bentley applications further streamlined workflows, supporting seamless data exchange and coordination across disciplines throughout the design process.
By adopting an integrated 3D design workflow, the project team significantly improved design efficiency and coordination. The ability to centralize data and enable real-time collaboration reduced inconsistencies and streamlined engineering processes.
As a result, the team accelerated the overall design phase by 30 percent, allowing for faster project delivery while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality in the final design outputs.
