Open BIM Analytical Model is a free CYPE application for generating the analytical geometry required for thermal and acoustic building analysis. It transforms architectural BIM information into calculation-ready spaces, surfaces, openings, edges and junctions while allowing engineers to review and modify the generated model before using it in downstream analysis workflows.
Overview
Open BIM Analytical Model creates calculation-ready analytical models from architectural building geometry for thermal and acoustic analysis.
The software identifies spaces, surfaces, openings, edges and junctions, together with relationships such as surface adjacencies and connections between building elements. When an architectural IFC model is available, much of this analytical geometry can be generated automatically.
Users retain full control of the resulting model and can edit, add or remove elements when necessary. Different space groupings can also be created for thermal zones, acoustic requirements or building-use criteria, with completed models shared through BIMserver.center for further analysis.
