Automatic voltage regulation is necessary for all power producing synchronous generators to ensure that the produced power have a constant and stable voltage level and to sustain grid stability. Hertford provides design and build a complete automatic voltage regulator, excitator and dual system synchronizer for a synchronous generator. A six-phase permanent magnet alternator will be used to excite the rotor with solid-state relay controlled rotating bridge rectifier. The field current is regulated by a closed loop control system that is based on a programmable logic controller, PLC.

Motor Protection is required for low or medium voltage 3-phase induction and variable-frequency drive (VFD)-fed motors with an enhanced thermal model. The Motor Management Relay offers current, voltage, and thermal-based motor protection; arc-flash detection; and power metering. It also provides all basic motor protection features, including protection for the following conditions:
  • Short circuit
  • Load loss
  • Load jam
  • Frequent starting
  • Imbalanced current
  • Phase reversal
The motor management relay installs easily inside a motor control center (MCC). It also comes with Motor Relay HMIs (human-machine interfaces) install on the front of the MCC for easy and remote reading with data logging.​
